Fenestrae Communication Server 2010

Fenestrae Communication Server (FCS) 2010 and Fenestrae Faxination Server (FFS) 2010 are fully certified for Windows Server 2003/2008 Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition. FCS/FFS 2010 support Windows Server 2008 (R2) as well as Windows OS running on 64 bit hardware.

MS Exchange 2010

FFS/FCS 2010 support sending and receiving fax, SMS and MMS message formats to and from Microsoft Exchange 2010. The Fenestrae Exchange Connector supports native integration and the MS Exchange 2010 fax format. Microsoft Outlook recognizes the message as an inbound fax and is able store it in the fax inbound folder.

Use your existing phone numbers to receive faxes

By leveraging the Exchange 2010 UM Server capabilities, the existing voice infrastructure and numbering plan can be further extended by adding fax functionality. This allows users to keep the same number for both voice and fax. When an incoming call arrives at the IP PBX, it is routed to the Microsoft Unified Messaging Server, which detects if the call is a fax message or a voice call. If it is a fax message, the UM Server does a simple Active Directory look up to find the email address for the intended recipient. This allows users to receive faxes in their personal mailbox. This eliminates the need for dedicated fax hardware, lines or number plans resulting in savings. Due to the advantages of electronic fax delivery you will also experience additional savings by reduced paper,toner usage and power consumption thereby lowering your carbon footprint further.

New Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Associates can work with incoming faxes same as working with extended PDF documents.  For example: easily copy content from incoming faxes and paste it into any other form or search faxes just by using ''Ctrl + find''.

When fax messagesare sent or received they can be routed and/or stored into logging destinations like: database e.g. SQL or Oracle, Text, Public Folder, Sharepoint and Web Service.

Incoming messages can be converted into extended PDF’s, text (together with tiff as inbound message) and as text (store in log). Extended PDF is a PDF format that allows you to copy information out of the PDF file.

Minimize network issues with our new Monitoring Service

The Fenestrae Monitoring Service detects possible network issues to assure faultless connections. The Fenestrae Communication Server 2010 checks whether the communication between components is in order or disordered. Each component reports the “in order” status within a defined time. As soon as the status is reported as disordered, a Windows Event is generated.

It is configurable which components need to be checked and which ones do not have to be checked and you can integrate FCS with SCOM or other Monitoring tools. 

Preview

This function allows you to view your fax prior to sending.

The user can send a fax message addressed to PREVIEW, the message ([fax:PREVIEW]) is processed normally but  will not be sent as a fax message. It will be forwarded back to you as an email. You can preview the fax prior to sending it on. For multi language support more addresses (default: Preview) can be added (e.g. Voorbeeld, Vorschau)
Each transaction is logged in the Fenestrae log database.

FCS/FFS 2010 supports more document types for conversion

FCS/FFS 2010 supports hundreds of file format types for document conversion including mainstream business formats such as PDF, HTML, JPEG, plain text,PostScript, etc.

Fax communication efficiency

With FCS/FFS 2010 it is possible to configure how many fax channels are used to process outgoing messages for all or specific fax numbers. The usage of fax communication channels gets more efficient since you can configure the number of fax channels as well as schedule the number of available channels and bundled transmissions.
