Fenestrae MDS Sync supports the broadest range of mobile devices by leveraging the SyncML industry standard. The SyncML mobile data synchronization standard is incorporated in the market leading Symbian operating system. Symbian and SyncML count for more than 50% of smart phones in use today.
No client software
Devices with the built-in SyncML synchronization protocol will need no more than the Fenestrae MDS Sync server to enable wireless Exchange access for all employees. Fenestrae simply leverages the built-in Email, Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks capabilities of the device. This approach drives down TCO by dramatically reducing device management workload.
MDS Sync minimizes support requirements, as users do not need to install and configure software on their personal devices. IT staff is freed from time-consuming manual deployments. Some of the most significant factors which increase a product's Total Cost of Ownership are virtually eliminated because of the unique, uncomplicated design of Fenestrae MDS Sync.
Device Configuration
Even with a solution that does not need client software, mobile devices need connection and device settings to allow secure and smooth mobile Exchange access. For every user that must be "mobile enabled", a configuration message is automatically created and Over-the-Air delivered to the mobile device. All the users have to do is accept this profile and they are ready to synchronize. From then on, they are always able to connect to your organization's Exchange servers - at any given time, wherever they are.
